As technology increases and social media platforms multiply, it can feel hard to keep up with everything. You’re posting on Instagram, engaging with clients on Facebook, updating your blog… it’s a lot! Websites are one of the easiest things to neglect. It’s fairly straightforward, right? We spend money and time making it & we hope it can sort of just run itself without a ton of upkeep. And this is true! There isn’t a ton that you need to be doing on your website if we’re talking about daily tasks. However, some of us (guilty!) have a website that hasn’t been updated in YEARS. This episode will provide 5 easy ways to update your website TODAY. These are simple tasks that don’t take a ton of time. Check out our 3 favorite ways to update your website below, and tune in to hear more!
- Update your bio: If you have information like your age, your years in business, or your specializations, this is especially important. It’s easy to forget to change your niche on your website. You really want to make sure everything is up to date & current so people know exactly what they’re getting when they’re booking you. This is one of the easiest ways to update your website.
- Update your galleries: This is a HUGE one! We are all really careful to make sure we have a constant stream of fresh photos coming through our Instagram feeds, but how many of you update your website galleries on a regular basis? I know I don’t! It’s kind of a pain to do, so I tend to neglect it, and honestly, I have photos in my gallery from over 5 years ago. Chances are your style has changed & your skills have improved since then, so it’s really important that you keep your galleries up to date & showcasing your BEST work!
- Update your pricing: When was the last time you really calculated your cost of doing business? Has it increased since you’ve started? If you’re buying new equipment or investing in new software, chances are it has! If your cost of doing business has increased, your prices need to reflect that. Pop into your investment page (if you have one!), and really consider if you should increase prices or change your package/pricing structure. There’s no better time to do it than now! The longer you wait, the longer you risk being under-compensated for your work or including too much in your packages.
